KKR vs SRH : KKR Crushes SRH by 80 Runs in IPL 2025

KKR vs SRH Highlights, IPL 2025: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) delivered a commanding performance, outclassing Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 80 runs in Match 15 of TATA IPL 2025 at Eden Gardens. Half-centuries from Venkatesh Iyer and Angkrish Raghuvanshi, followed by a dominant bowling display, secured KKR’s resounding victory.

KKR’s Early Wobble and Recovery

SRH skipper Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bowl first. His decision paid off early as Quinton de Kock fell to Cummins in the second over, followed by Sunil Narine, dismissed by Mohd. Shami in the third.

With KKR struggling at 35/2, skipper Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi steadied the innings. Rahane played aggressively, adding 81 runs with Raghuvanshi before departing for 38 off 27 balls, courtesy of a brilliant catch by Heinrich Klaasen. Raghuvanshi, however, reached his half-century before falling to Kamindu Mendis.

Iyer and Rinku Singh Power KKR to 200

At 106/4 in 12.4 overs, KKR needed a strong finish. That’s when Venkatesh Iyer and Rinku Singh turned the game on its head. Iyer’s blistering 60 off 29 balls and Rinku’s unbeaten 32 off 17 helped KKR plunder 78 runs in the last five overs, pushing the total to 200/6.

KKR Bowlers Wreck SRH’s Top Order

Defending 201, KKR’s pacers came out firing. Vaibhav Arora struck early, dismissing Travis Head for a golden duck, repeating his heroics from the IPL 2024 final. Harshit Rana followed up by removing Abhishek Sharma, while Arora scalped Ishan Kishan soon after. SRH crumbled to 9/3 in 2.1 overs.

SRH Struggles as KKR Dominates

Nitish Kumar Reddy and Kamindu Mendis tried to rebuild, but Sunil Narine and Andre Russell struck at crucial moments. Varun Chakaravarthy then got into the action, dismissing Aniket Verma, reducing SRH to 75/6.

KKR Seals the Deal in Style

SRH’s last hope, Heinrich Klaasen, put up a fight, but Arora removed him, leaving SRH in deep trouble. Chakaravarthy delivered the knockout punch, dismissing Pat Cummins and Simarjeet Singh in consecutive deliveries. Russell finished the job, bowling out SRH for just 120.

Impact on the Points Table

With this massive 80-run victory, KKR climbed to fifth in the points table, while SRH dropped to the bottom. This win also gave KKR a significant Net Run Rate (NRR) boost, strengthening their playoff chances.
